House Villa Lucia Ombrie

Plunge into the peace of Umbrian Rolling Hills

Villa Lucia is the ideal Holiday House for those who want to rent an apartment and spend their holiday enjoying the wonderful rolling hills and the art of region Umbria.

Each Holiday House is completely furnished with private entrance and heating, different from the typical farm holidays. The Villa is divided into 6 Holiday Houses and it is tucked away among the gently green hills, very closed to the little medieval village of Gaglietole.
The village of Gaglietole is set in a strategic position in the center of Umbria.
From here, within just few minutes by car, all the most important places like Assisi, Todi, Spoleto, Perugia, Orvieto, Gubbio, can be easily reached. The pearl of the Villa is the swimming pool set on terrace: from here the tranquillity and the view over the surronding landscape are breathtaking.

With its 902,000 (approx) inhabitants,  l’Umbria is one of the smallest regions of Italy. Located in the heart of the Italian peninsula, it is characterized by its rolling hills landscape and its low mountains. Thanks to the abundance of its flora, Umbria has been called “the Green Heart of Italy”. Perugia, Assisi, Orvieto, Gubbio,  Norcia, Spoleto (just to mention a few), are cities reach of art and history and each single medieval village encloses the charm of the past times.
Particular attention should be placed over Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis, and site of constant pilgrimages. Assisi is known throughout the world as the city of “peace” full of sacred monuments ( like the Basilica of St. Francis) and paintings by Giotto and Cimabue.

Villa Lucia is easily reachable from the North and from the South of Italy

The legend tells that Gaglietole was born originally as settlement of the Gauls Celts, coming down from the Padania Area and penetrated between the Umbrian population to encircle the Etruscan Power.

In the year 1299 the Castle of Gaglietole was already inhabited by 52 families. Nowadays the village is still well preserved. The Parish Church of St. Christopher, part of the old Castle, has a very simplified structure. Behind the altar, in the centre, there is a canvas by Polinori (1629) representing “The Last Supper and the Saints Christopher and Sebastian. Two more canvas by Francesco Providone depict the “Madonna of the Rosary and Saints” and the “Madonna del Carmine and the Crucifix”.From here you can enjoy spectacular views (and sunsets) over the river Puglia valley and thanks to our strategic position the most beautiful cities of Umbria, like Deruta, Perugia, Assisi, Spello, Montefalco, Spoleto, Todi or Orvieto are quickly reachable. The near sourroundings are also rich of small medioeval villages, like Collazzone, Gualdo Cattaneo and their hamlets, worthily enough to be visited for their characteristics and for their peaceful atmosphere.
